Vetrerie Riunite, a world leader in the production and sale of high-precision, high-quality glazing, has entrusted Terna Energy Solutions (TES) with the revamping of its 132/21.6 kV substation and the upgrading of the 21.6 kV medium-voltage section, substation that the customer owns at the Colognola ai Colli plant (Verona). The activities were highly diversified and carried out with a full-service logic for the customer, including design, implementation of the new HV-MV bay and medium and low-voltage works, as well as re-engineering of the control and protection system. All activities for the revamping were planned in advance together with the customer, in order to complete the work during a one-week production plant shutdown. This made it possible to avoid any interruption of production, utilising a significant team of experts.
